Terms of Service

The short version: Roofing.company runs a free roof estimate service. Homeowners ask for an estimate on our website, in our form or our chat, and we pass each request to one independent local roofing company, which pays us for it. Homeowners never pay us anything. Roofing companies sign up to receive these requests ("leads"). Section 5 covers the city addresses (subdomains) we also offer.

1. Who we are and what we do

These terms are an agreement between you and Roofing.company ("we", "us") for use of the website at roofing.company and its pages, forms, chat and dashboards (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you use it for a business, you confirm you can bind that business to them.

Roofing.company is not a roofing contractor and does not do roofing work. We connect homeowners with independent roofing companies. Any estimate, contract, price, warranty or work is between the homeowner and that roofing company.

2. Homeowners: free roof estimates

  • Free, no obligation. Asking for an estimate is free and you never pay Roofing.company anything. You are not obliged to hire anyone.
  • Who gets your request. We send your request to one independent roofing company that serves your area, and to nobody else. We do not sell it to anyone else.
  • Calls and texts. When you give us your phone number, in the form or when our chat asks for it, you agree that Roofing.company and the roofing company that receives your request may call or text you at that number about your roofing project, including by calls and texts that may use automated technology. Agreeing is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or use the "Do not contact me" link on our pages.
  • Our chat. The chat on our website is an automated assistant. It writes its replies with an AI model and can make mistakes. It asks for the details a roofer needs and does not give binding prices, advice or promises.
  • Our text number. You can text us at (863) 356-1042. Replies come from that number.
  • Roofers. Roofing companies agree to hold the license and insurance their area requires. We may check these details, but we do not guarantee them or the roofer's work. Check any roofer yourself before you sign anything.
  • Accurate details. Please give your own, accurate details. Requests made for someone else, or as a prank, may be deleted.

3. Roofers: buying leads

  • Your account. Signing up is free. We email you a link to sign in to your dashboard. Keep your details, service area and contact information up to date.
  • Exclusive. Each lead is sold to one roofer only: the first to unlock it. Nobody else gets it after that.
  • Price. The price is shown on each lead before you unlock it and is fixed when the lead comes in.
  • Paying. You pay for leads from prepaid credits, or, where card payments are available, by card for a single lead, which is charged only if the lead is still available when you finish paying. With auto-buy on, a matching lead in your area and price range is unlocked for you automatically and paid from your credits.
  • Credits are not refundable. When you add credits we put more ad spend into your area to bring you leads, so credits cannot be turned back into money, except where the law requires otherwise or for billing mistakes.
  • Bad leads. Within 72 hours of unlocking a lead you can report a wrong or dead number, a fake request, a lead outside your area, a lead that is not from the homeowner, or a duplicate. If we approve it, the price comes back to you as credits. A homeowner who doesn't hire you, or doesn't answer the first try, is not a reason for a refund.
  • Using leads. Contact homeowners only about the job they asked for, follow the laws on calls and texts, honor any request to stop, and don't pass the lead on to anyone else.
  • License, insurance and conduct. You must hold the license and insurance your area requires and tell us if they lapse, follow up with homeowners promptly, and never pressure them. Sending us your license and insurance details is optional. We may pause or close an account that misuses leads or gives false details.
  • No guarantee. We do not guarantee how many leads you will get, or that any lead will become a job.
  • Emails and texts to you. We email you when a new lead comes in for your area, and about your account.

4. Terms for everyone

Availability. We work to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Planned maintenance and events outside our control may cause temporary interruptions.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is", and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (zero for homeowners, who pay us nothing). We are not liable for lost profits, lost business or indirect damages, or for the work, prices or conduct of any roofing company.

Your responsibility. You agree to cover any claims, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your breach of these terms, from how you use leads, or from the content you send visitors to.

Changes. We may update these terms and will change the date at the top of this page when we do. Material changes will be emailed to roofers with an account and to address subscribers at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Other terms. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cancellations & Refunds policy and, for address subscribers, our Acceptable Use Policy, are the whole agreement between us. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. You may not transfer your account or subscription without our written consent.

5. City addresses (subdomains)

This section applies to businesses that subscribe to a city address such as orlando.roofing.company (an "Address"), alongside sections 1 and 4.

5.1 What you get

  • An exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license to use one assigned subdomain of roofing.company (the Address) while your subscription is active. You do not buy a domain name.
  • Only one subscriber may hold a given Address at a time.
  • While your subscription is active and in good standing, visits to the Address are redirected to the website you provide, or the Address points to the host you choose in your dashboard (an A or CNAME record). You are responsible for the content served from your own website or server.

5.2 What you do not get

  • Ownership of any domain name. Roofing.company owns and controls roofing.company and every subdomain, including your Address.
  • Any guarantee of search engine rankings, traffic, leads, calls or sales. An Address does not include homeowner leads; those are bought separately as described in section 3.
  • Website hosting or email for the Address. DNS for the Address stays with us; we create the record you choose in your dashboard.

5.3 Payment and renewal

Subscriptions are billed yearly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically on the same date each year until canceled. Prices for existing subscriptions may change only at renewal and only after at least 30 days' notice by email.

If a renewal payment fails, we may keep the redirect running for a grace period while the payment is retried. If payment is still not received, the subscription ends, the redirect stops and the Address may be offered to another business.

One-time (lifetime) option. Instead of a yearly subscription, you may make a single payment for an Address. A one-time payment gives you the same exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license described in section 5.1, with no renewals, for as long as Roofing.company operates the Service. It is not ownership of the Address or of any domain name, and it cannot be transferred, sold or moved to another business or another Address. Everything else in these terms, including section 5.6, still applies.

5.4 Cancellation

You may cancel at any time from your dashboard or billing page. See Cancellations & Refunds for what happens next.

5.5 Your destination website

You must own or be authorized to promote the website you redirect to, and it must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. You can change the destination at any time from your dashboard.

5.6 Suspension and termination

We may pause or end a redirect, with or without notice, if the destination breaks our Acceptable Use Policy, endangers visitors, misrepresents who you are, or if we are required to by law. If we end your subscription for reasons other than your breach, we will refund the unused portion of your current year.
